Disadvantages
- Students are not acostumbed to self-assessment.
- Some times they are not sincere when they do the self-assessm
- Self-assessment consumes much time for the teacher’s activities.

Self-assessment
Is a good way to know what students need and how they feel, what they think about their progress, about the methods used during the course.
It becomes a useful tool for teachers because is the better way to know about their students and their progress, it also helps the teachers to know what they need to change or if there is any thing they can add to make the course better and useful for the students’ learning.
Advantages
- Encourages the students to reflect about their own progress bringing them the motivation to overtake their goals.
- Makes the necessary changes to improve their learning.
- Self-assessment allows teachers to know about how they worked during the course.
- It is a good way that students have to communicate their needs to the teacher.
- Allows students reflect about their work.
- Allows students notice their responsibility to overtake their learning objectives.
- Students provide a useful feed-back of the teacher´s work.
- Allows students learn from their mistakes and try to correct them.
Disadvantages
- There is not much willingness to change the mistakes.
- Sometimes students are not able to identify their own mistakes.
- Sometimes students are not sincere when they do self-assessment.
- Students are not able to work with marks when there is intrinsic motivation.
