Assessment & Testing Activity 4

From my point of view assessment is one of many teaching methods which is used to evaluate the progress that our students are making along the course, not only evaluating our students but also diagnosing the learning process and the problems that we could encounter in it.

Testing is a synonym for assessment since it’s and assessment instrument. This is the traditional method used to evaluate the progress of our students but we don´t take into account is that when it comes to doing tests it can be perceived an atmosphere of stress in the classroom. 

And as we already know, teaching is to provide knowledge and all the sources to the students in a specific field, this depends on the subject that the teacher is specialized.

These definitions explained above they are relate in a classroom situation, they will be found in every classroom in different ways depending on the style of the teacher and how he decides to implement them. The teacher needs to be aware of how it applies these methods in order to create a better learning atmosphere in the classroom and of course with the students. From my perspective, I think that the use of testing it´s almost the same in many schools, the purpose of testing is to evaluate how students are doing in the learning process except teachers can´t see the disadvantages this has if it´s not applied effectively.

Assessment: Is the gathering of data and documentation that do the learning evident.

While we are assessing our students we need to answers these questions; what do they know and understand?  What can they do? , What do they feel and believe about the learning and themselves as learners?

 

Also is important to give feedback and in that way the students will know in which topic they have to pay more attention and in which they already catch the knowledge.

Based on this I think that is important to assess our students because it gives us the evidence of the learning and it is stress free.

Evaluation, testing or formal assessment is the most stressful way to evaluate the learning progress.

Teaching is just share information or give knowledge, in a classroom the person who has this responsibility is the teacher but also the students can know things than the teacher does not.

In a classroom we received learning by teaching and we demonstrate that we already learn by being assess or evaluate it depends on the teacher style.
